The process for carbon buyers

ORMEX offers an accessible platform that automates the purchase of carbon certificates and simplifies the process for both farmers and buyers.

Step 1

Review available projects on the ORMEX Registry, audited and validated by independent internationally accredited auditors.

Step 2

Contact the Project Holders directly and negotiate the terms of your purchase. The financial aspect of the transaction is ensured bilaterally between the Project Holders and the Carbon offset buyers. The main contact details of the Project Holder are provided in the Project Stakeholder information section on the ORMEX Registry.

Step 3

Join the ORMEX digital platform. Create your company and user profiles. The ensure strong security on all sides, every profile is verified by ORMEX, and the Know Your Customer process is completed before the company can access the ORMEX platform and services.

Step 4

Apply for the transfer of V-ACORs (Verified carbon credits) or V-ACORs FUT (Future carbon credits) relating to a particular project and vintage.

Step 5

Pay the Registry Fee according to the ORMEX Payment Fees and Conditions.

Step 6

Receive an ORMEX Carbon Transfer Certificate, which guarantees the carbon credits transfer through the ORMEX Blockchain. Each carbon credit (V-ACOR) represents 1 tonne of carbon dioxide equivalent (tCO2e).

What differentiates ORMEX carbon removal from other carbon removal solutions?

Ecosystemic Benefits linked to the United Nations SDGs

The ORMEX Standard and Methodology is a pioneering approach towards evaluating and issuing carbon credits. Credits are issued only if they are beneficial to nature, people and biodiversity as a whole. If there are no ecosystemic benefits in a project, then there is no carbon offset certified and issued by ORMEX.

The Ecosystemic benefits of regenerative agricultural activities are reported according to SDG-specific targets, and quantified through evaluation criteria and their precise indicators.

According to ORMEX’s “Ecosystemic Regenerative Agriculture Methodology”, some of the ecosystemic benefits are mandatory and must be monitored by Project Holders on a regular basis. Others are optional and may be applied only for projects at a national scale.

ORMEX Carbon Credits include quantified indicators for 10 out of 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

1 Carbon Credit (V-ACOR) = 1 tonne of CO2e + set of eco-systemic benefits.
